This IM (Instant Message) timer is designed for parents or employers who want to control web use. It "limits and blocks Instant Messaging, Internet access or any other undesired program". The software "becomes an extension of the operating system, which makes it extremely stable and virtually impossible to bypass." It is transparent to the user with no additional login required. When the system starts, it starts, and "most users won't even know it's running, until they get kicked off." This is not a filter, but an access and user control system. A reporting feature generates a list of all applications used as well as all web sites visited per user. Administrators can visit each site listed, and record all appropriate and inappropriate activity. There are two versions; Windows 98 and Windows XP. See also IM Control (www.imcontrol.com).
