Capsela are toy construction kits where kids build robots and then watch the gears and wheels operate to make the robots move. With Bug Builder, children follow a diagram and assemble interlocking parts to build a walking grasshopper or a praying mantis with moving head and arms. In the process, they are supposed to learn about gears, motors, electric circuits and energy conversion. All pieces are interchangeable with other Capsela sets so that users can experiment with their own inventions. We found the bug easy to assemble, but as for learning science concepts, a parent or teacher will need to help make connections. Kids loved building and playing with their toy, however.
