This series of math CD-ROM's and workbooks has both strengths and weaknesses. On the positive side, the depth and breadth of content is excellent. The series begins with basic skills like counting and comparing and progresses through time, money, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, graph reading and more. All areas of K-3 grade math are covered and each CD/workbook set has many, many activities. The software is self-paced and provides quick feedback to children, and progress is tracked. The presentation of the CD is very much that of an electronic workbook, similar to the School Zone series, although not as well done. Flaws of the software include cluttered screens that frequently put too much information in front of the learner. There is little instruction given; this is more of a practice experience than a lesson. All text is not read aloud and the child must click to progress to the next screen— the program does not automatically advance. Still, the series is affordable at $19.95 per CD/workbook, and children are offered a great deal of skill practice.
