© 2003 Microsoft Corp.
Note: This title has be re-released as "Rail Simulator," distributed by Electronic Arts in 2008. The content and controls are nearly identical. Steer an authentic train on five routes. New features include the ability to adjust the authenticity preferences, in order to make the interface easier to use (a major complained with the last edition). Better graphics include passengers, virtual engineers who look out of the windows, and animals roaming the countryside. A new dynamic weather effect adds an additional layer of realism. Contents include five routes, 13 interactive 3-D cabs and U.S. steam locomotives. For the first time, users can customize and expand the simulation by creating new trains, routes, scenery and challenges that suit their specific interests.
