This year's version of the Middle School Advantage CD bundle once again provides instruction and practice in ten subjects with a variety of different programs that vary in quality (4.2 is a cumulative rating). Typing Instructor is an excellent keyboarding tutorial, U.S. History is a history textbook on CD-ROM (it's read aloud, which is nice), and Advantage Writing and Vocabulary is a dry but useful writing tutorial. Also included are Classic Library (the texts of 2000 unabridged classics, from Shakespeare to Aesop to Dickens), Human 3D (a text, pictorial and animated tour of the human body), The Rosetta Stone v.1.7.7 (an immersive Spanish tutorial) and Basic Math 2 and 3 (a nice geometry and algebra primer, although a little tricky to use). A Microsoft Excel tutorial is tossed in. All things considered, you're getting a lot of solid content for the price, but note that a good deal of the material is most appropriate for eighth grade and beyond.
