JumpStart Advanced Toddlers
© 2003 Vivendi Universal Games
First things first. This is a very nice PRESCHOOL product. It is not a very nice TODDLER product. How many toddlers do you know that can type in their name and click Enter upon request? Best suited for four and five year olds, this 3CD set is only appropriate for very computer-savvy three year olds. The majority of animations cannot be interrupted, so toddlers are forced to wait and are unable to quickly see the cause and effect of their tapping a key or moving a mouse. Content (letters, numbers, etc.), presentation and required eye-hand coordination are far more sophisticated than most 1 1/2 to 3 year olds can handle. Older children may be pleased with the program, however, as the set offers 35 activities including arts and crafts projects, music videos, counting and letter games and so on. Graphics and music are cute, and there is lots to do. Just don't buy it for a toddler.
