Science Snoops: The Case of the Missing Monarchs
© 2001 Kinder Magic Software
Students take on the role of investigator as they try to determine why the number of monarch butterflies counted this year is down from last year. By watching video clips of a butterfly documentary, researching information databases and interacting with materials (i.e., weighing larvae, examining slides under a microscope, etc.), students try to solve the mystery. In addition to learning about the monarch butterfly, students also will come away having practiced their science skills, including data gathering and analysis, and critical thinking. Features include 20 monarch butterfly video clips and 70 interactive Q and A videos with scientists. Supplemental teacher materials include a teacher's guide and student journal.
