This combination Internet site and CD-ROM is offered free from Publix Super Markets. The CD (developed by Rare Medium) features seven early learning games. Kids can make a meal with Henna the Hen, learn the alphabet with Bixby the Bookworm, and help Kitty Kangaroo do her grocery shopping (at Publix, of course!). The activities are solid and the graphics are great. The web site is designed for parents, and offers food and home safety tips, directions for preschool crafts and games, recipes and parenting advice. As part of your free membership (registration required), Publix will send your children birthday cards, coloring books and other odds and ends. Both the web site and CD are well designed and appealing, offering both adults and children entertaining and educational content. Note that the web site and CD-ROM are available only to people living in the states in which Publix Super Markets are found, namely Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.
