Are we alone in the universe? This program lets students explore this question by partaking in virtual journeys based on past, present and future NASA missions. The CD is divided into 12 learning modules, with five focusing on background information (requiring 1-2 class periods to complete) and seven mission modules (requiring 2-4 class periods). Modules have titles like "Extreme Environments" and "Extraterrestrial Communications" and feature photos, videos, interviews with scientists, articles and activities. For instance, in the Viking Exobiology module, students recreate the first experiments designed to look for life on Mars. Student work is saved to a log. A Teacher's Guide and reproducibles are included. Navigation is a bit cumbersome, but manageable.
