Sony DCR-TRV340 Handycam Camcorder

Looking for video camera for a classroom or for use with kids? This solid 8 mm camcorder packs plenty of power and essential features into a small package, although there are plenty of other similar cameras in this price range to choose from. Problems are minor, but include complex menus (for editing, setting the clock); and the process of transferring still images to a computer can be mystifying. We'd also like a more intuitive set of controls -- with the zoom button going front to back (instead of side to side, for example). Also, the tapes are loaded from the bottom of the camera, which makes loading a new tape clumsy, especially if you're using a tripod. When using the more expensive, higher quality tape, you get outstanding video quality. This camera can also take still pictures, which can be transferred to your computer or integrated into your videotape. This solid, all around camera won't let you down.
