Silly Talkin' Mr. Potato Head
© 2002 Hasbro, Inc.
An electronic Mr. Potato Head? After you insert the three AA batteries in his feet and turn him on, this Mr. Potato Head looks just like the traditional toy, except that he can talk, and he knows which body part is inserted in the correct spot. If you put his ear in his eye spot, for example, he says one of several random "incorrect" statements such as "Does this look weird to you?" or "Hey, Potatoes have eyes!" in clear male speech. When parts are placed in the correct position, he says "Much better" or "You're a real pal." The sounds don't add much to the play -- if anything, they can be distracting and tiring. They could be useful as a language experience, but the most play value comes from trying out silly combinations. It is easy to turn the voice off, and play the traditional way if you like.
