These two classic programs (on one CD) now come with a brief, additional activity that lets children guide a flying ship through the sky. This add-on doesn't add much to the already good content, though. The CD has also been revised to work with Immersion Corporation's TouchSense technology. When hooked up with a TouchSense-enabled mouse (iFeel from Logitech or the HP Force Feedback Web Mouse, for example), children get a buzzing and jumping sensation as they play. A second CD contains four games from the latest Reader Rabbit Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st Grade and 2nd Grade CDs (one activity per grade), along with 100+ printable activities and songs. There are also ads for The Learning Company's other products, which our testers accidentally happened upon. For those unfamiliar with RR Baby and RR Toddler, read on. In Reader Rabbit's Baby, parent and baby can play together in eleven activities that introduce shapes, colors, songs, animals and body parts. Any movement of the mouse or keyboard results in something happening on the screen. The Reader Rabbit's Toddler program is a variety pack of eight well-crafted activities that provide playful experiences with early logic and language concepts. The program is extremely responsive and easy to use and offers many nice features. There are finger plays, shape and color games, counting activities and an introduction to the alphabet. Testers, both children and parents alike, loved the colorful graphics, solid activities and gentle theme.
