My First LeapPad: Pooh's Honey Tree
© 2002 LeapFrog
This little book works with My First LeapPad, a responsive electronic book reader designed to be a first introduction to the world of print. Kids just place the spiral bound book in place and turn on the toy with the large "on/off" button. Pooh's Honey Tree tells the appealing story of Pooh's search for honey in the 100-Acre Wood. As each page is turned, it must first be activated by touching the "GO" spot. Next, children can touch any word or picture to hear it labeled in clear speech. Each page has two "GAME" (or music) buttons that prompt children with structured questions like "can you find the red square?" Strengths include a generous amount of content (we counted 30+ activities and five songs), a durable design that can withstand daily preschool use, clear speech and portability. Additional features to note include a headphone jack.
