A must-have CD for anyone dealing with childhood leukemia (families, hospitals, etc.), this thoughtful program helps kids understand and deal with the disease. Information is delivered via a combination of animations, video and activities, and is divided into six areas, including The Testing Center (learn about tests and procedures), Help Yourself (learn about pain control, preventing infection) and The Get Better Place (learn about hospitals and treatments). When users begin the program, they identify what age group they belong to (4-6 year olds, 7 and older or adult) and the information is then geared toward that level. The videos of real children talking about their experiences are very enlightening, and the activities (puzzles, quiz shows, etc.) are plentiful and engaging. The animation and programming aren't flashy, but the content is well delivered.
