This is an online learning "space" connecting students, teachers and parents. It is unique in that it includes online interactive textbooks, based, of course, on the McGraw-Hill line. Teachers can use the system to create and post on and offline assignments, manage class rosters and gradebooks, keep group calendars, and more. The interactive textbook component features the entire text and graphics of the traditional textbook, along with movies, instant feedback activities, and related web links. A standards alignment feature will be added in the spring of 2002. Students use the system to keep track of, access, complete and send assignments, among other things. Parents can log on to assess their child's progress. The system is user-friendly and has a clean interface and look. The teaching materials and resources (both on and offline types) are excellent. Dozens of McGraw-Hill textbooks are currently integrated into the online system, with more on the way. The program is currently implemented in pilot programs in 15-20 school districts and sites across the country. Cost per student is roughly $10 per year. Parents can also buy a subscription, for $12-$13 per year.
