CTR Review

This is a total management solution for school districts using Windows 2000 servers. What's so different about this system is that it works across all platforms, just the way schools do. Whether your teachers and students work on Mac, Win NT, Win 95, Win 98, or Win ME workstations, or all of the above, this management system is the same for everyone. And, you can log in off campus as well, your customized desktop follows you everywhere. The team at CPS works with each school district to design a template of the district's needs, from district-wide enrollment and building records, down to the classroom level. All initial data entry is automatic via list merges. Administration can use the system to track attendance and graduation credits, send emails to staff, etc. Teachers can use the system to distribute, collect and correct assignments, set up web resources, and conduct conferences among other things. Students can retrieve and submit assignments from all teachers, access their permitted web resources and networked software applications, and more. Each user account is completely customizable and the system provides all security. Teacher training and technical support, both in person and online, are included in the price, which comes out to about 15 to 20 cents per student per month. As of 11/1/01, the system is being used in some 680 schools across nine to ten districts, including Orange County, Florida.
