Teaches: teacher utility

CTR Review

This is a comprehensive educational management system that integrates instructional materials with assessment tools and professional development resources. Teachers can use the system to make, find and schedule lesson plans, manage their class home page, assess student progress and refine their teaching skills. Lessons come from Houghton Mifflin, and are correlated to state standards. We found the service easy to use. You can search by the topic or standard you want to teach to, and you can customized lessons quickly. There are numerous on and offline activities and resources that are offered with each lesson. One especially useful component is the custom publication area of the service. Here you can design and print out workbooks for your students. Professional development offerings include teacher forums, tips, strategies, research articles, and in the near future, accredited online courses and programs. Students use the system primarily by visiting the class home page to keep track of assignments, events and announcements. They can also complete online assignments and tests. Currently, the service is for K-8 only. Cost depends on the size of the district; $7500 per year for up to 500 students, to $15,000 per year for 1500 plus students.
