CTR Review

This clever, compelling game combines puzzles and music. The action takes place inside an octagonal tunnel where players must press buttons in sync with the beat to capture the music tracks of different songs. These tracks are represented as panels in a twisting video landscape— very cool. After players have connected a track, another track appears. As you are connecting the tracks, more and more appear, and the beats you have to work with become more complex. Soon you are working frantically to connect tracks before time runs out. Songs included on the disk are by No Doubt, Paul Oakenfold, The Crystal Method, DJ Qbert, Juno Reactor, Orbital, Fear Factory and more. There are eight musical genres of music encompassing Electronica, Hip Hop, Alternative Rock, Drum & Bass, House and Rap Metal. This innovative game has been designed by Alex Rigopulos of Harmonix music systems, who has been working for years on helping people visualize motion and sound. ?Also see Traxion, LucasArts.
