We had a hard time coming up with a rating for this confusing program, largely because we struggled to figure out how it works. We reviewed just one CD from the series; State History. From what we can gather, this series offers lessons, quizzes and record keeping for subject areas including history, math, language arts, and science and Bible (on separate CDs). When reviewing State History (for New Jersey), we were a bit surprised to find scripture from King James Bible sprinkled within the lesson. The back of the box does mention that "a non-sectarian Biblical [Christian] perspective is presented in all subjects." On the content side of things, the facts and figures about New Jersey are interesting. (Did you know that New Jersey is nearly surrounded by water?) The presentation, however, is weak, comprised of a large text file with Internet links and a few videoclips, pictures and amateurish animation. Interactive features are few, with a focus on the steps and ethics (e.g. plagarism) involved when writing a report. If the overall design and quality were higher, the series might be useful for school or home settings with similar religious beliefs. In its current form, however, steer clear.
