CTR Review

In this members-only web site for kids, we found plenty of content and chat rooms. Most of the games are in Flash or Shockwave (appropriate plugins are required), making for some long wait times. New members are sent software to link to a private network. The first six months are free, and $12 thereafter for the first child and $4 per month for each additional child. However, if the first subscriber signs up a new subscriber, another six months of access are provided. Chat rooms are monitored, and offenders are given a "time out." Content comes from the Headbone zone (www.headbone.com), Modern Media Ventures (makers of the old "Gus" series) and others. In addition to subscriber fees, the site makes its money from sponsorships and e-commerce. See also JuniorNet.
