Fortres 101 6.0
© 2009 Fortres Grand Corporation
Now in it's sixth version, Fortres 101 is designed to lock down Windows-based classroom or library computers, so children can't change the control panel settings or change the desktop image to something school board members might find problematic. Note that this can be a more restrictive approach than Clean Slate (another product by the same company). While many similar functions can be handled by a standard Windows administration account, Fortres takes things another step -- offering more options in how it is deployed and easier setup and use. It prevents changing any settings, such as the Windows desktop or browser default home pages. Any attempts to change things are greeted with a message that says the computer locked down.
