This version of the classic adventure/puzzle game has been revised and updated, improving on several elements of the game, most notably the graphics. Those familiar with the original will be delighted to find that the static screens have been transformed into fantastic 3D world that you can walk though in real time. This makes a huge difference in game play, allowing you to wander freely thoughout the island and view all 360 degrees of your surroundings. Graphic quality has been increased and special lighting, weather, and environmental effects have been added to enhance the feel of the game. The sound effects and music have also been updated, although the difference is not as noticable. If you played through the original, you probably won't want to purchase this version. With the exception of the ending, the plot and puzzles are the same. If you didn't catch Myst, however, you've got another chance to enjoy the classic adventure. See also Myst III.
