This 48-page softcover book/CD combination helps children explore the people and culture of ancient Greece. We like the book better than the CD, largely due to the void of multimedia and sound on the CD-ROM. The program is reading dependent and text is not narrated. The activities, seven of them, are simple but interesting. Kids can follow the story of Odysseus, take a quiz on their knowledge of the times and drag the Greek territories into place on a map. They can also learn about the Greek alphabet and ask questions of Pythia, an ancient oracle. The book offers lots of interesting text and images on the subject matter.
