While quite limited in terms of activities and breadth of content, this introduction to the Middle Ages is fascinating. A three part video tells the story of a peasant boy who, against the odds, survives disease, loss and the random decisions of Lords. The tale provides an interesting perspective on what it was like to live during that dark time. A short narrated description and timeline of early, middle and late Middle Ages (400 to 1500 AD) is provided, along with crudely designed activities. In one, kids can customize their own Middle Age man or woman, and in the other, they can piece together a map puzzle. Missing are ways that teachers can pull all of this interesting information together.
