Mr. Squawky is a noisy, talking, stuffed animal holding a phone. As he talks, his beak and head move. A second phone is held by the child, who can send commands to Mr. Squawky via infrared beam (up to 15 ft.). Content includes a game of Simon Says, and ten melodies. Parents can program the phone numbers of friends. While the phone concept is great, Mr. Squawky launches into noisy sequences of songs and instructions that a child can't control, which reduces true play time. Testers played with Mr. Squawky for one or two days and then went back to their Beanie Baby birds.
