Turbo Twist Math
© 2000 LeapFrog
This is a well-built, handheld toy that offers fun math facts practice for kids in grades one through five. Children simply choose a skill level, and then twist the turning number handle to fill in facts. The problems are spoken out loud, helping kids memorize. Four modes of play are offered, two of which require a separately sold Internet link (LeapLink, $14.99). Several progressively more difficult levels are offered, and adults will appreciate the easy to access volume controls and headset port. While the toy is nice on its own, the LeapLink lets adults upload their child's answers, and then download a customized set of problems that zeros in on weaker skills. Good stuff. Also available is a Turbo Twist Math Education Bundle from LeapFrog SchoolHouse for grades 1-8. It includes a 24-page Activity Guide (filled with activities for a single student, study group, an entire classroom); a Mind Station Connector; four Memory Cartridges (for study centers); and the Turbo Twist Math unit.
