CTR Review

This is a pretty cool idea. Kids come to this free site after they've read a book, and, if they answer 5-10 detail and comprehension questions correctly, they earn points. Points accumulate with each book quiz taken and soon children can redeem the points for prizes. A small number of points earns printable prizes like magic tricks, masks and paper airplanes. Large numbers of points can be redeemed (with parental permission) for gifts from the site's sponsors. Kids can earn, for example, a candy bar from a candy maker or a $5 gift certificate from Barnes & Noble. Currently, the site has quizzes for over 3,000 children's books for grades K-8. On its advisory board are organizations like the International Reading Association, so you know this is a well-intentioned operation.
