CTR Review

Professionally narrated slides and video introduce the unique style of Southwest Native American rock art along with an analysis of what archaeologists believe the art forms represented. Each section includes a multiple-choice quiz, and a student's progress can be tracked. We appreciated that the program runs off the CD so that no installation is required. However, this is content that could easily be delivered via the traditional means of videotape and slide show. The images are interesting but not always clear and the program is rather dry in presentation. The encyclopedia, dictionary and glossary are very handy, but teachers were sometimes confused by the advertisements for other programs sold by Clearvue. Lab packs and site licenses are available. Other titles in the series include Early American History through Art, The Art of Seeing, Art & Music.
