CTR Review

The hardcover book that accompanies this CD is not compelling in theme but gently exposes children to simple words. When compared to programs like Reader Rabbit Personalized Preschool and Reading Blaster Kindergarten that provide lots of meaningful, customized reading experiences, the storybook and six activities leave much to be desired. There's no sign-in, meaning kids have to start over each time they play, and the activities offer only one level of difficulty. The matching game, jigsaw puzzles, mazes and songs are of fair quality, but do little to support children's early reading skills. They may initially engage kids, but are unlikely to keep them interested over time.
