Communicable and Noncommunicable Diseases
© 1999 SVE & Churchill Media
Straightforward in its presentation, this CD teaches, among other things, the difference between communicable and noncommunicable diseases. Content includes videos, animations and narrated text, but the multimedia is not as exciting as it could be. Features include quizzes, an onscreen dictionary and a learning guide. Despite less than state of the art graphics, this would make a very nice addition to health and science classes because the information is clearly and thoughtfully presented, and comprehension and retention is tested via the multiple choice quizzes. Children will also come away from the experience with some useful knowledge on how to avoid spreading disease.
