Dr. Math (http://forum.swarthmore.edu/dr.math/) This is a good place to go for all your K-12 math related problems. Students can post questions, search the site by topic, play math puzzles and solve the problem of the week. The site is manned by "Math Doctors" (math students from Swarthmore College and other universities). The site is sponsor supported (e.g., by Amazon.com) and contains a searchable archive is available by level and topic, as well as summaries of Frequently Asked Questions (the Dr. Math FAQ). In fall of 1994 the Geometry Forum (now the Math Forum) discovered a dormant project called "Ask Prof. Maths," where K-12 students could send in math questions and get personal answers. The program was revived using Swarthmore College math students as 'Math Doctors'. By the fall of 1995, the rapidly increasing volume of questions required that new members of the staff be recruited from other colleges around the country. By the year 2000, there had been over 300 volunteer 'Doctors' -- not all from Swarthmore. We like the site because of the ability to get an answer, the archive of past questions, and links to other math sites. The site contains limited banner advertising.
