CTR Review

This is a Internet programming contest for teams of students and teachers from grades 4 to 12. First developed in 1997, this well funded prize program awards scholarships as high as $25,000 for first prize. Prizes are awarded in five categories: Arts & Literature, Science & Math, Social Sciences, Sports & Health and Interdisciplinary. Finalists travel to an award weekend where they compete for the top prize, and there is no entry fee. In the year 2000, ThinkQuest will be available to students in any country. The deadline for entering a team is February 28, 2000 and the awards are given in the fall of each year. Visit www.thinkquest.org for updated information, as this date may change. Sponsors include Adobe, Microsoft, Cisco Systems, Dell Computer and others. For anyone interested in honing their internet talents and putting them to work, this is just the thing. The Awards Event for ThinkQuest 2000 will be held in Cairo, Egypt November 10-14, 2000. Transportation and accommodations will be provided for students and coaches by ThinkQuest. During the weekend a variety of activities are planned for team members giving them the opportunity to meet other "cyber champions" and demonstrate their web entries.
