This is an extensive interactive language course over the Internet that comes with a text book, 15 days of free Internet access, a CD-ROM and a high quality microphone (you supply the Windows computer). The 12 lessons (one per week) are broken up into sections such as conversation, vocabulary, grammar, speaking, reading, cultural enrichment etc. The language enrichment section guides you through other appropriate web sites. There is also a quiz at the end of each lesson as well as a "midterm" and "final". Each student has a personal instructor who grades and suggests remedial work for each quiz and exam, as well as provides feedback on the verbal and audio sections (through an audio file). Each lesson requires at least 5-7 hours of practice per week. The content is equivalent to a first year Spanish course at the college level (students can get up to four college credits).
