Using cool characters and a funky beat, along with examples of code from popular computer games, children learn to program in BASIC. Twenty-six lessons cover if/then statements, while/send loops, gosub routines and Boolean expressions. The program very cleverly breaks down each step and gives kids a hands-on, meaningful way of learning about the concepts behind programming. They get to, for example, alter programming routines of fun arcade games like "Block Head" and see the effect. Overall, this is a great introduction to some very hard concepts.
