Looking for an affordable, powerful Chromebook for back to school? Here is one of Acer's leading Fall 2020 contenders. Designed to fit an a student's backpack, this thin, light 11.6-inch convertible touch screen Chromebook comes in several versions that vary slightly in price depending on the processor and internal memory. All versions have a screen that flips to convert the laptop into a touch screen tablet with the ability to run Google Play content. The version we reviewed came with a regular USB part, plus ports for a USB-C (and charging), a regular-sized (and rather clunky) laptop charger and a headphone (audio) jack. We liked the physical volume controls on the side. Acer promises "up to 15 hours of battery life" and a price around $260. This low price makes up for the relatively small screen, mediocre speakers and mid-quality camera. We didn't drop test our loaner unit, but we noted that the overall construction seems very solid.
