The "New Nintendo 2DS XL" is a step back in terms of the 3D sizzle being highly promoted by Nintendo three years ago, and a step forward in terms of simplicity, durability and power. About the size of a large smart phone, the clamshell design offers durability and two clear, large screens. The system can play all 3D cartridges in 2D. The screens are much larger than the older flat 2S system (although the 2DS system is much cheaper, at $80).
