Coming July 28, 2017, the Nintendo 2DS XL -- a clamshell large screen, non-3D mobile gaming system. The new system will be lighter and available in black or turquoise. It will have the same size larger screen as the current "XL" sized 3Ds. Visuals will be displayed in 2D only, signaling an end to Nintendo's 3D games. Features include built-in NFC support for amiibo cards and figures and the ability to play all existing Nintendo 3DS games, which will in appear in 2D.
