First released ten years ago (in 2007) the Fisher-Price Smart Cycle attempts to combine physical and cognitive play. Unlike the first edition, the bike connects to your tablet via bluetooth. You can download one free app (extras sold for $4.99 each) designed to deliver a kindergarten-readiness curriculum that progresses as you pedal. The free app is called Smart Cycle Mission to Tech City. The other apps feature Nickelodeon characters, Blaze and SpongeBob SquarePants. The handlebars, seat and tablet holder are all adjustable, to accommodate and iPad, Apple TV (in case you want to use your big screen, too), Amazon and "most Android tablets." As we did ten years ago, we found the operation to be rather unresponsive ... but the concept is a good one. Released date: Holiday 2017.
