Powerful and beautiful, but hard to learn, this open-ended creativity app lets you turn one of six highly regarded of the Nosy Crow fairytales inside out. This app gives you all the content (characters, backgrounds and music) from the existing Nosy Crow fairytales, and lets you mix and match them on the same stage, where you can add your own voice (complete with lip syncing). This app comes with huge potential, but it has a significant learning curve, as well as some creative limitations. The prop and character placement feels rigid, and some of the items respond better than others to touch. That's because they sometimes overlap. It is hard to figure out how to add additional scenes in order to make a play. There are two versions: a “standard” version (Fairytale Play Theater), priced at $1.99 with IAP. This version comes with one “pack” of content, meaning the characters and art from one fairytale of your choice. Additional stories are offered for $1.99 from within the app. The “complete” version (Called "The Complete Fairytale Play Theater") is priced at $9.99 and it comes with all six stories unlocked and no IAP. This type of app is much better for schools or libraries. There is no text or narration (which will make it more accessible internationally). The complete version has content from the following six Nosy Crow apps: The Three Little Pigs, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Snow White, and Goldilocks and Little Bear. Content includes 60 characters, plus scene backgrounds, musical backgrounds and props. The Multi-touch screens allows multiple children to play together.
