Looking for a great starter app for very young children? This app lets you swipe through ten playful airplanes and pack it with as many as three animal creatures. Because each plane has a limited number of seats, the app creates an excellent early number (1-1 correspondence) experience, for the youngest mathematician. The fail-safe operation makes this an excellent starter app. Nice touches include a darker sky when flying high (into outer space, with associated music) and a responsive environment full of things to touch and freely explore, such as balloons that pop or ice cream clouds. After a flight, items that are encountered are reviewed with a set of snapshots; a good way for children to reflect on their play. After you choose one of the planes, you start flying, simply by touching the screen. As you move (forward, back, up or down), you can visit friendly clouds, a flying pig, or zoom high to go into outer space. The easy controls foster accidental success and the movement is high in child control. There are no rules or time pressure, and the planes never crash. Hint: Let one child steer the plane, and another pop the balloons (or interact with other items that might be discovered). This app follows the same design used in Sago Road Trip and Sago Boats.
