Well intentioned but unnecessarily complicated to learn and use, this new programming "microworld" is based on the original ideals of Logo, but is limited to visual creativity. Our testers found some clunky design issues that will hopefully be resolved in future updates. Specifically, the fonts are tiny, and the Turtle Sprite is big. The screen won't resize on the iPad Pro, and the code blocks clutter your creative space. Once you get over the steep learning curve (which is helped by trying the examples) you can easily save and export your projects to the Camera Roll. The app was made by former MIT grads Ben Silverman and Paula Bontá. The color coded commands come from the PicoBlocks system -- similar to Scratch, but smaller and more cryptic.
