Six fast-paced games test your ability to find the parts of speech needed to complete a sentence. This is a pick up and play app that is very easy to start and use; with no student accounts or long term progress features. In Noun Disco, you're asked to complete a sentence like "that ___ is growing beautifully!" You are shown two words that pop up from the bottom of the screen (e.g., "fern" or "toy"). Touching the correct word earns you points, and moves you up to the next level. At random intervals, goodies pop up, or you might accidentally touch a bomb which will cause you to loose a life. There are five other games, each following the same format. These include Verb Garden (complete sentences with verbs), Syllable Spaghetti (how many syllables are in the word spaghetti?); Spelling Slumber Party (touch the correct spelling of a word); Tense in Paradise (touch the past tense words) and Plural Piggies (touch the plural word). This is a new type of app for Fairlady Media (known for the Grandma series). It would work well as a supplemental activity for any classroom. We liked how the nouns, verbs, syllables, spelling, verb tense, and plurals are presented in the context of a sentence. Content includes "thousands of vocabulary/spelling words" brought to life with good narration and playful graphics.
