Pocoyo Playset: Let's Count
© 2016 Zinka Entertainment, S.A.
Six well intentioned but overly chatty didactic early number games feature nicely rendered versions of Pocoyo and his friends. While the graphics look good and the sounds come from the show, Pocoyo (a small animate boy) tends to like to entertain, through lots of random movement that has no relation to the play pattern. It is not possible to easily skip the instructions that start each game, and instructions loop -- a design attribute that could drive a teacher out of the room. In addition, the rewards interrupt the play in games like Whack-A-Number.The good news is that the pedagogy behind each game is solid, and it is easy to get out of any activity, which increases the chance a child will land on something he/she likes. This is one of a series of several Pocoyo Playset apps. This is the only one that we've tested.
