Fuzzy House
© 2016 Fuzzy House
Interactive dollhouse apps are becoming plentiful these days (see the Toca Life series for some of the best), but few that look as nice as this one. Designed in Denmark, using Unity, for both Android and iOS. There are four rabbit characters that look as if they were hand crafted from fuzzy yarn. The interesting part is that each of the characters can also be made with real materials using knitting patterns sold on the publisher's web site for about $3.50 each. The six room house has four rabbits that can be freely placed in six rooms, which are are thick with room themed items. The bathroom has a toilet that can be flushed, and the kitchen well stocked with some fresh-baked Danish bread. While this app looks great, our kid tester revealed some bugs - finding themselves locked in a room. We're not sure why this happened, but we did notice some clunky mechanics, e.g., when you try to put items onto a shelf, for example. We've seen a lot of apps, but this is the first that can be extended with real knitting projects. Despite some rough edges, it's worth a download.
