A Little Goat Builds the World
© 2016 the very design
Featuring an innovative navigation structure but some design quirks, this story app features a central character that stays constant as you scroll through various story elements in the background. The story is about a goat exploring his world. You can try out the effects of sun, wind or birds. You discover that the sun helps the plant grow, but (after swiping the lower part of the screen) can also evaporate water or change the color of leaves. The app was designed to help a child develop fine motor skills and eye to hand coordination by using different hand gestures (dragging, swiping, rotating) to trigger hidden events. However, the story is a rather weak on interactive design. The non-chronological storyline helps a child discover all of the possible combinations.
