Bachmann E-Z App Train

This is an HO scale train set with four cars and an engine that can communicate with your newer iPhone or iPad via bluetooth. So there is no transformer, and you can control basic train functions phone or tablet, with no wires. This includes speed and direction control, add music and sound effects. Note that the sounds come from the speakers of your tablet and not the train. Our testers found the setup and syncing process to be clunky, but were able to get things working within 10 minutes. The wheels of the train MUST be in contact with both metal tracks or the bluetooth connection fails. But it quicky auto-syncs when it is touched again, so things tend to work. This would be a good starter set to use as a base to add to... it might also be nice for a public center, where anyone could download the app and control the train from their own device. Works with Bluetooth 4-supported iPhones (4s or newer), or newer iPads (iPad Air or newer). The app is free. The kit includes one E-Z App-equipped FT diesel locomotive with operating headlight, three cars, 56 inches of snap together track and instructions.
