All About Dinosaurs

This is one of the better dinosaur fact apps. Akin to an interactive sticker book, it comes from the respected Korean publisher Y Factory. Children explore the basic facts about 30 dinosaurs, namely size (compared to a child), diet, type, location and outline. You start by choosing from three periods, and then complete a dinosaur outline puzzle by dragging and dropping each dinosaur outline onto the screen. Once your puzzle is complete, the dinosaurs come to life with basic animation, and you can explore some of the attributes of each dinosaur. There's also a nicely designed (but hard to find) dinosaur encyclopedia that lets you dynamically classify the dinosaurs. We especially liked how you can put your own height in (in either metric or English units) and see how you compare to the dinosaur. The illustrations are less than realistic, although the color relative size seem accurate (we're not dinosaur experts). We noticed that you must be connected to Wi-Fi in order to start this app the first time (after that it works OK). Created with the support of KPIPA.
