2/17/2021 see also Toca Life World Build Stories. This third app in the "Toca Life" series takes children into a school with five locations, where they can play with 32 zany, diverse, gender/ethnic neutral characters. The app lets you choose the curriculum, decide when to take recess, and ring the school bell. It's a bit like an open-ended puppet show, with no scripted scenarios. Five locations include a playground, school, house, cafeteria, and youth club. We liked the characters and non-watered down mischief that you can get into with this app. You can also record and save up to a two-minute video with narration. A new content channel icon (found on the main menu) contains screened samples of children's work . An Internet connection is required for this feature. A new content channel includes "Life Weekly" (requires an Internet connection) to share stories, fan art and tips. The app was inspired by watching children play with play sets, which explains the inclusion of such things as a toilet. Need to know: To reset your school, use the spinning arrow icon on the main menu. The parent options are found in the "Settings" section of your iPad, and they let you turn on/off the microphone or social media options. Also, some items are hard to "pick up" which an frustrate younger children. This is a minor issue, because most items work.
