We've reviewed many mix-and-match creature creation apps, but this is the first to have an underlying DNA theme. Unlike a Tinybop type of experience, however, the science is blurred by random activity and distracting animation that makes the experience confusing. Besides the double helix artwork and some background information in the parent's guide, there's really no real science related information in this app. But the corny routines are fun, and the vegetarian monster option in the parental controls is noteworthy. Before you start thinking this app will turn your child into a scientist, know that besides the logic associated with some shape matching, there's no science content in this app.
