Looking for a playful, spooky language enrichment app? With pictures and narration straight out of the Sony movie, this classic 23 screen/page storybook app comes directly from the animated film Hotel Transylvania 2. Each page contains a paragraph of nicely narrated text. While the font is small, you can touch individual words to hear them read aloud. There are no animated features, which could be viewed as both a strength and a weaknesses. In the story Dracula has opened the Hotel Transylavia’s doors to humans for the first time and things are changing. But Drac is worried that his half-human grandson, Dennis, doesn’t have a vampire side. So, while Mavis and Johnny are away, he enlists his monster friends to help him put the boy through a “monster-in-training” boot camp. A second part of the app lets you color six scenes using typical coloring tools and stickers. The best part is the quality narration, music and illustration -- right from the movie, making this a good way for a child to sharpen their teeth with some high interest reading. Pun fully intended.
